So, who am I?

Hello and welcome! I’m Palesa, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), an Internal Family System (IFS) therapist and I also work as a growth facilitator. I provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for your growth and self-discovery. As we meet for the first time, I focus on our connection and building trust between us.

In our time together, I’ll be taking a moment to observe and get to know you, gathering background and history to better understand your unique experiences, values, and beliefs and how these have shaped you. I’ll also be tuning into your energy, as this is a crucial aspect of our connection. I believe that every individual has inherent worth and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

As a humanistic and person-centered therapist, I prioritize your subjective experience and personal growth. I’ll be working alongside you, rather than dictating a specific approach or agenda. My goal is to empower you to tap into your inner wisdom, explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and discover your own unique solutions.

As an IFS therapist, I enjoy working with individual parts and help you form an understanding and move towards parts of yourself. By helping you focus inside and help you access what Dr Richard Schwartz termed the 8 C’s: Curiosity, Calm, Compassion, Connectedness, Creativity, Confidence, Courage and Clarity.

I’ll be adjusting my approach to best meet your needs, paying close attention to both your verbal and nonverbal communication. I believe in the power of genuine and honest connection, and I’m committed to creating an environment where you feel heard, seen, and understood. I’ll be actively listening, empathizing, and validating your emotions, without judgment.

My approach is rooted in the belief that you are the expert in your own life, and that you have the capacity to grow, transform, and develop. I’ll be supporting and guiding you, rather than directing or dictating. I’ll also be acknowledging and respecting your autonomy, allowing you to take the lead in our sessions and explore topics that are most relevant to you. At the same time I am very involved and will use curiosity to challenge you to grow and be aware of taking perspectives and reaching psychological flexibility.

Together, we’ll be exploring your values, beliefs, and goals, and working towards aligning them with your actions and behaviors. I’ll be supporting you in developing a greater sense of self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-compassion.

Usually coming in as a form of loss. Therapy is great for helping you navigate crisis such as death, break up, retirement, divorce and other transformations

We provide one-on-one coaching. My approach has some element of coaching when it comes to issues related to as an example: professional development issues.

Identity

In a world where who you are and what you stand for matters. Helping you figure out the complexities of what are your values, needs and wants is one of my greatest missions.

Trauma

Usually manifesting as depression, panic attacks, anxiety, nightmares, flashback, relationship issues, - All may eb a signal of some kind of emotional trauma. Often with trauma you need someone to help you carry the heavy emotional load.

Inner Wisdom

We all have the ability to access our inner healer, yes all of us and I can help you gain enough confidence to access this inner wisdom which leads to inner peace.
